Cleft Heart characters and “found” objects
Intermixed with key characters are medical images: a hospital bill, a payment booklet, and a very simplified diagram of a lip and nostril repair.
Hospital charges and my parents payment booklet for the surgeon’s fees show what a “deal” surgery was back in the day. Not! The charges were truly hefty and required installment payments, just like a mortgage on a house.
