In a much-hyped matchup between quarterbacks–cleft lip Peyton Manning and handsome Tom Brady, it was Manning––the player that most had counted out––that shined the brightest.Due to Manning's diminished arm strength and a litany of struggles all season long that stemmed from a partially torn plantar fascia, he came into this matchup as a home underdog. All pundits could say leading up to the game was that cleft lip afflicted Manning and the Broncos would need to play a nearly perfect game to … [Read more...]

Cleft lip hero QB Peyton Manning faces accusations.
Talk about hitting a player after he's down. An "allegation" about cleft lip Bronco quarterback Peyton Manning using prohibited Human Growth Hormone (HGH) surfaced while Manning was sidelined by a foot injury (partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot). The idea that Peyton Manning is now the backup QB for the Broncos jars all of us who consider him a hero as a five-time NFL league MVP. If you are a die-hard Manning fan, this one-two punch hurts. As readers know, I've celebrated Manning in … [Read more...]
Cleft lip kids at high risk for being abused.
As if the childhoods of many cleft lip and palate kids aren't hard enough, researchers have now found that they're at high risk for child abuse. This is an interesting line of research which I've not been aware of before, tho admittedly I haven't kept up with the literature or lectured about it for some time.Over recent decades considerable research and media attention have been focused on the broad concept of child abuse. It's broad since it ranges from parental kidnapping, physical violence, … [Read more...]
Insulting comedy film features five cleft lip brothers.
In my blogs I try to flag those cultural outputs like jokes, quotes, movies, and the like that cross the line with regard to oral facial disorders. Judge for yourself. Read this promo blurb for the dark comedy coming your way called "Men & Chickens." "Sexy “Hannibal” star Mads Mikkelsen (“The Hunt,” “A Royal Affair”) plays radically against type in “Men & Chicken.” The Danish film is a riotous and zany satire that every Mikkelsen fan needs to see. Wearing a prosthetic nose and a cleft … [Read more...]

Plus, there are wonderful diagrams, a list of famous people through history with clefts, and a segment regarding animals with clefts. So, read on. And if you ever need to find info in the … [Read more...]
Heroines, bullies, and Batgirl’s final bow as a hero.
As I noted earlier in the week on various social media, Batgirl, whose face graces my "Heroes, Villains, and Fools" home page, has died. Ms Craig was a heroine to the kids of prior generations who were unused to superheroes at every turn. Superheroes could mainly be found in comic books. Among other villains, Craig fought bullies.Craig was trained as a dancer, which helped her perform her own stunts as Batgirl in the iconic 1960s TV series "Batman." Craig died at her home in Pacific Palisades, … [Read more...]
