Again, Baldwin and Armorer named in ‘Rust’ legal case.

I recently posted my skepticism about whether justice would be served in the settlement Alec Baldwin made with Halyna Hutchins husband and son. The deal, valid in its provision for support of her son, seemed odd since it also allow Baldwin and other financiers to resume shooting of ‘Rust.”
Apparently renowned lawyer Gloria Allred agrees. She just announced that she’s filed a lawsuit on behalf of  the late Ms Hutchins’ sister and her parents in Ukraine.Halyna Hutchins  

Baldwin and Armorer named in ‘Rust’ legal case.

During a press conference, Allred said the lawsuit alleges “battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and loss of consortium” for Hutchins’ mother Olga Solovey, father Anatolii Androsovych, and younger sister Svetlana Zemko.
Hutchins’ family lives in Ukraine, where Solovey is a front-line nurse in the country’s war with Russia.
In a video statement played by Allred, Zemko said that Hutchins’ death was “one of the biggest losses of (her) life.” 
“Even more devastating is to see the utter suffering of our parents and how their health has sharply declined,” Zemko said. “It is for this reason that I would like those who are at fault … to carry that responsibility, and not just someone, but that very someone who is truly responsible for this. I believe to let this go and leave this unpunished is unallowable.”

“There has been no outreach to them by Mr. Baldwin to even say he was sorry,” Allred said. “We want accountability and just for them. It’s as simple as that.

Others named in ‘Rust’ legal case.

According to legal documents, Halyna’s parents and sister have named Baldwin — plus a slew of companies and individuals — as defendants in the suit. Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.
“It’s clear to us that the relationships of all of our clients have been damaged and that they will not be able to enjoy life in the same way as they did when their precious Halyna was alive,” Allred said.
So, actor and producer Alec Baldwin is facing yet another lawsuit over the shooting on the set of the movie “Rust” in 2021 that killed Ms. Hutchins, a cinematographer. This follows in the footsteps of criminal charges for Baldwin and the armorer on the set. These amount to two counts of manslaughter. Allegedly, Baldwin won’t take a plea bargain deal in that matter.Allred said the civil case will continue regardless of the outcome of the criminal case.

David Halls, also named in ‘Rust’ legal case.

The documents claim several safety protocols on set were ignored, including their insistence that Gutierrez-Reed should’ve been the only one handing Baldwin the gun — NOT Assistant Director David Halls, who’s also named as a defendant.
The family says Baldwin “cannot hide” behind Halls’ alleged statement on set that the gun was “cold” … adding a veteran actor like himself should’ve insisted that it was demonstrated to him or checked it himself.

No rehearsal or practice shot was needed.

What’s more, the documents say the scene they were filming didn’t call for Baldwin’s gun to be cocked or fired at all — and they say there was insufficient plexiglass in the building at the time of the incident, which could’ve ensured Hutchins’ safety.

Hutchins’ family is suing for loss of consortium, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more … and is seeking unspecified damages.
