I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention other situations where “Reverse Looksism” has reared its ugly head, pardon my pun. Over the years, I've been subject to facial discrimination, a term I coined a while back. (Much of this discrimination occurred while I was growing up, and it's laid out in Cleft Heart: Chasing Normal.) In one of my recent criminology books,Privileged Killers, I examined a celebrity who killed someone: Ira Einhorn was the wellknown "Prince of Nonviolence" in Philly in the '60s and '70s and even ran for mayor of the City of Brotherly Love.
